Kids' Club 2020-21 School Year Program
We strive to offer children a program that is affordable, fun and safe. One of the key elements of this program is “play!" Through play, children increase their social competence and emotional maturity. Activities will include indoor and outdoor sports, group games, arts & crafts, music, dance and occasional field trips to local parks. Each day quiet time will be offered for participants to complete daily virtual learning and independent reading.
Although this program during Covid-19 times will be very different from our typical before/after school program of the past, the philosophy and goals will be the same. We are excited to get kids active and playing each day so you can return to work with peace of mind. Your kids will be in capable and caring hands. Each full day will have designated time and space for virtual learning and supervision.
A parent handbook has been prepared for your convenience. It informs you of our policies and procedures as well as to provide valuable information to help you to navigate the many details involved with this program. These are unprecedented times and we’re doing our best to adapt to new procedures while collaborating with school administrators and staff to keep kids safe, happy and healthy.
Who: Children in grades 1-5 who attend Edna Libby, Steep Falls and George E. Jack Elementary Schools. We are not accepting Kindergarten children this year, unless there is an older sibling who is also registered for the program.
Where: George E. Jack Elementary School. Participants who attend Steep Falls Elementary School may register for the full day care (sorry, no after school care possible for Steep Falls students at this time). Parents are responsible for transportation.
If the school department changes to an all green format, we will then change to a traditional before/after school option. If you are already registered for our Kids' Club program, you will have first priority in the before/after school program. Likewise, if the school goes to an all red format (virtual), we will work with the school department for an alternative plan.
Full Day Care:
When: Mondays & Tuesdays & Wednesdays (Block A) or Wednesdays & Thursdays & Fridays (Block B)
Time: 7:30 am - 5:00 pm
Location: G.E. Jack Elementary School
After School Care:
When: Mondays & Tuesdays & Wednesdays (Block C) and Wednesdays & Thursday & Fridays (Block D)
Time: 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Location: GE Jack Elementary School (van transportation provided after school from Edna Libby School to GE Jack School right after school dismissal - kids will check in at the office and the group will be escorted outside to load the van together).
Excludes all school vacations, holidays, or snow days. Register for the days your child is attending in-person school. If your child is registered for Kids Club, no need to register for After School Care on those days - it is included.
This is not a "drop-in" program. You must enroll for an entire month on a first-come, first-served basis. We have a limited amount of space available.
You are registering for, and will be billed for, either a full day and/or an after school day program. Once you have registered your child, you do not have to re-register for each month. Your child will remain registered and you will be billed monthly (this is a change from our past billing practices).
Once registered, we will create a monthly bill for you which can be viewed and paid online. All balances for the following months WILL BE DUE a week prior to that new month starting. You will receive a reminder in the middle of the previous month that your invoice is ready and available to pay online. Should anything change in your schedule, please provide a 2-week notice so we can adjust your invoice.
Full day care: $38 per day (First payment includes a $38 non-refundable deposit)
After school care: $15 per day (First payment includes a $15 non-refundable application fee)
Each month's fee will vary depending on how many days are in each month that your child will attend.
Written notice is required two weeks prior to the desired withdrawal date. Once the month has been paid, there are no refunds available. Any days remaining in the month of withdrawal will not be refunded. The parks and recreation department recognizes there can be extenuating circumstances and it retains the right to handle refunds on a case-by-case basis as necessary.
No School Day Policy:
When school is canceled by MSAD #6: No Program, unless otherwise specified
When school closes early by MSAD #6: No program, unless otherwise specified
When there is a delayed start due to weather: We will follow the same delayed time (for example, a two-hour delay means drop off is at 9:30am rather than 7:30am).
Child Concern Form and Permission to Administer Medication Form:
If your child requires one of these forms, please click on the links below to fill and submit at the time of registration. We will do our best to support the needs of your child and provide reasonable accommodations as necessary.
