Boating Safety Course

With dozens of boaters, in everything from canoes, kayaks, paddleboards and outboards, understanding safe and courteous watercraft use helps make our lakes safer and more environmentally friendly. The Watchic Lake Association and the Town of Standish have partnered with the Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife to bring this ME state approved boating course to Standish. This course will teach you how to properly operate and maintain a boat. Min: 10 Max: 30

Course components include:

• Proper Operation & Safety (Boating Handling-Equipment-Trailering) = 3 hours
• Laws = 30 Minutes
• Emergencies & Survival (cold water) = 40 Minutes
• Self Help First Aid = 20 Minutes
• Environment/Ethics = 1 1/2 Hours

Date: Saturday, 6/19/21

Time: 8:00 am – 3:00 pm
Ages: Adults and children 10+ (Persons under 18 are free if registered with a
paying adult)
Fee: $10 (includes lunch)
Location: Kiwanis

Please Note: Passage of a final exam is required. At the completion of the class, students will receive a NASBLA (National Association of State Boating Law

Administrators) boating safety cards that is recognized in all 50 states.
