This is a nine-member committee appointed by the town council. The committee meets the first Thursday of every month. The committee members help to plan and run community events. There are four major events the committee plans each year: Spooktacular, Holiday Tree Lighting, Easter Breakfast, and the Standish Summer Spectacular. The committee members also offer feedback and input for various plans for the department’s parks and other community programming.
 
 The mission of Standish Recreation is to provide all Standish Residents with the very best quality recreational programs, events and facilities possible. Standish Recreation is committed to its stated goals, focusing on making a difference to each of its citizens.
